Help with the Online form.
This page migrated o new twiki 4/12/2006, DRB
This form is used to submit the certificate request you generated previously (called usercert-request.pem ). If you don't already have a certificate request, please see Generate a Certificate Request
Go to to the APACGrid certificate
request submission form. If you have a tabbed browser, open it in a new tab, otherwise, open a new window, you will need to see both the form and this page.
Inspect the certificate presented and ensure it is issued by:
- CN = ca.apac.edu.au
- O = APACGrid
- OU = Trustcenter
Select to trust it this time only (we will have a permanent solution later on).
The web page should now contain a form that requests you to fill in a number of fields, summarised below :
- Request [PEM formatted file] Upload the request file you previously prepared. Click 'browse' and find the usercert_request.pem you created earlier.
- Registration Authority [choose the RA where you will be authenticated.] Select the state you live in.
- Role [chose the appropriate Role.] You will choose 'User' (or possibly RAO) for a personal certificate. For hosts, select 'Web Server', it will work fine for any host application.
- PIN: [min 10 chars - please write it down for later] Just leave it blank, you don't need it.
- Re-type your PIN for confirmation. Just leave it blank, you don't need it.
- Name (First and Last). The name of the person who should be contacted in matters relating to this certificate.
- Email. The email address of the person who should be contacted in matters relating to this certificate. Please make sure you put something in here, otherwise we cannot tell you the certificate is ready, needs renewal, is dangerous or whatever. Requests without the email address here will not be processed. If the address bounces, we will revoke the certificate immediatly.
- Department. Place something here if you feel like it, we don't realy care.
- Telephone. A current telephone number so we can contact you in relation to issuing the certificate.
When its filled in, please press the OK button. You now need to proceed to step 3 and obtain authorisation from a local RAO.
