Site Systems
Purpose - APAC Partners and associated research institutes intend providing a variety of systems resources to the grid including: gatekeeper systems, test and production compute resources, data resources and web servers. This component identifies these systems and their operating configuration.
Responsible Group - Implementation Task Force
Contact - David Bannon
Technology - Centos, Xen and various other versions of linux
Inputs - This layer has no dependencies on other components
Outputs
- Gatekeepers supporting multiple grid stacks
- Standardised execution environments
- Dtandardised file system environment
- Data collection on resource use, output to Accounting
- User execution envronments, required by grid staging and execution

Grid Plans
The following site specific plans identify:
- The compute and data resources that will be made available through the grid
- How the gatekeeper machines will be wired into the site
- Details of file sharing arrangements
- Details on firewalls (and their owners) between the systems and grangenet and aarnet
- User account management (per system or site) and the implementation technology
QUT (as one of the QPSF Partners)
- Users have the same name, but not the same UID.
- There is no large scale data storage.
- All firewalls are under QUT control.
IVEC
APAC National Facility
- ngdata VM will instead be implemented as services on MDSS server
- User accounts stored in LDAP database
- separate file systems on each compute cluster
- MDSS massdata filesystem long-term tape-backed storage
