Technical Contact Leigh Gordon Leigh.Gordon at utas.edu.au

TPAC is following the plans and requirements set out by the compute grid project to make TPAC compatible with the grid.

Progress against Milestones

Some initial work was performed to make the PBS que operating on blizzard compatible for operation with the compute grid. We put a proposal into the ARC from a 128 processor SGI and 14 terrabytes of disk storage. No toolkits have been installed yet..... We have finalised our plans and we attended most of the APAC workshops. This work was undertaken by ITSOIL Pty Ltd.

Any changes to resources, staffing, to the plan's milestones or aims.

We advertised a new position with applications closing 21 August within our Information Technology Resources to ensure that we can deliver on the 0.25 + 0.25 efts in the compute grid and (also in the information grid areas). This will undertake the upgrades we need on our machine to ensure that Blizzard is a grid enabled machine. In the interim, the current contact person is John Dalton within ITR. John.Dalton@utas.edu.au who will participate in the compute grid activities as best as he can.

An "access grid in the box" has been ordered for delivery this month and also a conference phone to improve communications and our participation in the grid activities.
