Camera Support

There are often good catalogue specials on Logitech cameras (Myer, OfficeWorks, ...) so they will be very common. Here is the start of a support matrix.

Ashley has logger a ticket #3989 with EVO support regarding Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro. This has since been resolved.

Mac

Shunde tested on Mac OS 10.5.2
  • Pro 4000 - light turns on, but not usable in Photo Booth
  • Pro 5000 - no light, doesn't work in Photo Booth
  • Deluxe for Notebooks - automatically switches from built-in when connected and works in Photo Booth, but not EVO (an OS setting to enable?)
  • Pro 9000 - didn't work at all. Box does not mention Mac support.

Simon tested on Mac OS 10.5.3

  • Pro 9000 - Works with QuickTime? Movies, uses iUSBCam to work on iChat but it's a shareware program 7 day Trial.

Maybe drivers needed to be installed first? - Logitech Web site does not support any drivers for Mac OS X.

Updates

  • 29/01/08 Daniel - Initial testing with Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10, AG3.1b2, EVO 1.0.7
    • Logitech STX has narrow field of view and was not detected on Grant's Intel Mac - returned 29/01/08
  • Sam - Dell XPS M1530 with built-in camera, Ubuntu 7.10 V4L2 works with AG3.1 and EVO
  • Shunde - Intel MacBook with built-in iSight camera works fine with EVO
  • Tony - Creative VF0280 V4L2 works with AG and EVO (Daniel Ubuntu 7.04), and EVO on Intel Mac. David Bannon has some issues with EVO (Linux OS?)
  • 29/04/08 Daniel - Ubuntu 8.04 AG3.1 - Pro 4000 now works with V4L2 driver as well as V4L. (ie. No need to add/remove service)
  • 29/04/08 Daniel - Tested latest 1.0.9 Build 81 of EVO. Deluxe for Notebooks (now works) and new Pro 9000 (from ebay) works
  • 29/04/08 Shunde - Mac testing
  • 29/04/08 Paddy - Windows XP SP2, Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop, Pro 5000, Pro 4000. Work fine.
  • 29/04/08 Paddy - Windows XP SP2, Dell Precision T3400 workstation, Pro 5000 and Pro 4000. Work fine, even simultaneously. Also OK with Sony EVID70P? cameras via IVC-200G capture card. Can send the two USB and two Sony streams simultaneously on this machine ( at least- haven't tried more yet...)
  • 30/04/08 Simon - Updating the matrix table which includes Windows.
  • 19/05/08 Paddy - Intel iMac with built-in camera, OS X 10.5.2, works well once Authoxy was set appropriately. Using headset for audio via Griffin iMic USB interface.
  • 22/08/08 Vlad - Logitech Quickcam Orbit/Sphere MP, 046d:08cc does not work for me on Linux/Fedora 9/2.6.25.14-108.fc9.i686, VieVO? crashes when it tries to use the camera. Other webcams work well.
