About GridFTP

GridFTP is a protocol for network transfers using grid frameworks. GridFTP is part of the globus toolkit and was designed for efficient and secure transfer of large amounts of data. GridFTP uses extensions to the FTP protocol to add enhancements such as parallel transfers and automatic restart of transfer after interruption.
