Videoconferencing & Web-based collaboration groups

As one of ARCS goals we aim to provide robust Videocollaboration and Web-based Collaboration Tools and Services. An initial focus will be on evaluations of available video conferencing and videocollaboration tools. A Videocollaboration Discussion Group has been formed to determine the nature of the Videocollaboration Tools and Services that ARCS will be supporting and promoting into the future.

A first meeting of the Videocollaboration Discussion Group has been held and a second meeting will take place using Access Grid on December 6th @ 10.30 EST to review progress, make some initial decisions and to initiate some core videocollaboration services. Key outcomes of the first meeting were (i) to establish mechanisms via the AG Working Group to improve the reliability and robustness of Access Grid and (ii) to investigate EVO as a videocollaboration service to be supported by ARCS.
